Karen Lawes, M.D.

Karen Lawes, MD

Dr. Karen Lawes grew up in Vermont, went to Colby College in Maine, then attended UVM Medical School. She first came to Seattle in 1993 to attend the UW residency program in Renton. She has worked at several family medicine clinics in the area and also practiced in an underserved area in upstate New York for five years. She is board certified in family medicine and considers patient education among her strengths. This is, in large part, her reason for joining Carena, as "traditional" Family Practice clinics allow little time for patient care and education.

In her free time she enjoys spending time with her husband and 3 children. She loves travel, sports and the out of doors. She also hopes to begin physician volunteering to underserved populations.
